Just as a reminder, please be sure to have your child bring a jacket/sweatshirt everyday to school in case the weather changes unexpectedly. Students will always go out to recess unless it is raining/snowing or the temperature is frigid. Thank you!

This year, STM would like to honor the Veterans in our lives with a video. Please email ONE picture of any and all Veterans in your family to Rachel Espinosa (rachele@stthomasmore.org). We would like to include as many branches as we can including: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, Reserves and National Guard. Please only send US Vets. All pictures must be submitted by November 2nd, 2018.

Religion
We began our in-depth study of the 10 Commandments last week. At some point, please take a peek at your child’s religion notebook…that is where the completed Commandments will be. Lectio Divina Week 8 will be due on Friday, October 19th. We have also been saying Rosaries as a class for 40 Days for Life. If you and your family say a Rosary at any point this month, let me know and I will add you to the count. Thank you!

Math
DeWolfe: We will be wrapping up chapter 2 this week. Students will have a test on chapter 2 on Thursday.

Science
We began chapter 4 last week and will continue through this week as well. I have a flower dissection lab planned for Tuesday and the vocab quiz scheduled for Thursday 10/18. All students have their vocabulary in their binders. I do not have a Quizlet prepared for these words so I would encourage students to make their own.

Social Studies
We began chapter 2 last week and will continue working through the chapter this week. I have tentatively scheduled the test for October 25th. All students have their vocabulary lists, so that is a great place to start. There is already a Quizlet made and can be found at https://quizlet.com/_2o6uzv. Students will also be completing a Help Wanted poster on an assigned explorer.
