November 12 – 16

I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed a snowy Sunday!  On Thursday, we will have our first official practice for the Christmas play!  As I mentioned earlier, the play will be performed for families on Friday, December 14th at 6:30, so mark it in your calendar and let your family and friends know!


On Tuesday, November 13, at the 9:00 a.m. school Mass, students will process in with a bounty of fruits and vegetables and share their blessings with the local food bank.  Below is the list of fresh produce and fruit the students are to bring in for their donation.  Your generosity will help provided less fortunate families a nice Thanksgiving dinner.  Thank you!

·        Second grade:    pears
·        Third grade:       onions
·        Fourth grade:     carrots
·        Fifth grade:         nuts & olives
·        6th Grade:           raisins and cranberries
·        7th grade:            potatoes
·        8th grade:            squash, yams and sweet potatoes

Wednesday, November 14th – End of 1st Trimester; Shorts are no longer allowed

Thursday, November 15th – Teacher Luncheon; Dress down day; December hot lunch ordering CLOSES

Friday, November 16th – Middle School Geography Bee at 9:45 a.m.; 11:30 Dismissal; Report Cards home!

Monday, November 19th – Friday, November 23 – No School – Thanksgiving Break — Happy Thanksgiving!

Friday, November 30th – 5th grade field trip to the Arvada Center for Seussical!



We will continue with our study of the Commandments this week. Lectio Divina Week 12 will be due on Friday, November 16th. Second Step Lesson 8 is also due on Friday, November 16th.



Students have been working hard on adding fractions and we will move in to subtracting fractions this week.  Students can anticipate a quiz by the end of the week.



We began Earth Science last week and started talking about weather and the layers of the atmosphere.  We will probably finish the chapter before Thanksgiving Break.  Students will not have a formal test, but we will be completing a small project for their assessment.


Social Studies

We will continue with Chapter 3 this week and will finish this chapter up after Thanksgiving Break!
