LOOKING BACK AT LAST WEEK
RELIGION – In Lesson 15 (continued) we learned that when we are at Mass we celebrate Jesus’ sacrifice of love. We learned that Jesus taught us that He is the Bread of Life and that if we eat Jesus’ flesh and drink His blood we will have eternal life. And so, at the Last Supper, Jesus gave us the Eucharist, His true Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, as a way to be with us always. The Eucharist is spiritual food that nourishes our souls. The Eucharist changes us when we receive it and gives us a share in Christ’s mission.
MATH – We finished Chapter 9, Length, and completed the test for this unit on Tuesday. We reviewed and revisited concepts from Chapters 7-9, and took the cumulative review on Thursday.
LANGUAGE ARTS – In Unit 8, Lesson 1 we isolated sounds in words and generated words that contain oo spelled ew, u_e and oo. Our Read Aloud stories this week were Gecko Toes and Dragon Eyes and Fruits and The Fable of the Lion and the Mouse. Reading skills that we worked on included genre review and making connections. We learned that a preposition is a word that tells where and when for a noun or pronoun. We learned that a prepositional phrase begins with a preposition and ends with a noun or a pronoun. We read decodable books 93-95 and they went home. I hope they continue to read them to you at home!
