We will continue our discussion of the Sacraments of Initiation.  Students will be working on the sacrament of Holy Eucharist this week!  Students will be having a quiz on the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday, March 7th.  This week, we will not be having our weekly school Mass on Tuesday.  Rather, we will be having an all school Mass on Wednesday the 6th as we celebrate Ash Wednesday together.

We will continue working on simplifying algebraic and numeric expressions, continuing on to using inequalities in algebra.  I am hoping to wrap this chapter up by Thursday, if not, then early next week.  Students will be RETAKING their lesson 5.1 and 5.2 quizzes if they did not receive an A on the quiz from last Wednesday.  Please take some time and review the problems with them…they have their quizzes.

All students have now received their kit provided by Xcel Energy.  Please remember that you are NOT required (but highly encouraged) to use the products included in this kit; these products are yours to keep for immediate or future use.  The part that IS required is your child returning the Home Energy Worksheet.  Xcel asks for these to be returned so they can improve their school program.

We have also begun Unit 3, Chapter 11 today.  We will be studying Physical Science for the next 6 weeks.  Topics being covered include density and solubility, force, composition of matter, Periodic Table of Elements, etc.  Students can anticipate a vocabulary quiz on Wednesday, March 13th.

Social Studies

The Revolutionary War Battle Project is progressing wonderfully thus far! It seems the students are all engaged and quite excited about their given battles!  Students are still finishing up their maps, insets, and skits and I am hoping to begin the battle scene construction by Wednesday.  Next week, maps and insets will be in the hall for all to see, so stop by and come take a look!  I will be distributing study guides for lessons 3, 4, and 5.  The test on this material will be on Friday, March 15th.
