February 4 – 8

Happy Iowa Assessment week!

Please remember to have your children get plenty of rest and eat a hearty breakfast every day, but especially this week.  Please send your child with a HEALTHY snack this week as well.  We also ask that all students be to school on time.  Remember, they may come up to the 5th grade classrooms starting at 7:25 am to get ready for the day!

I will not be assigning any homework this week…so be sure to get lots of rest and relaxation!

CONFIRMATION INFORMATION!

In him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in him, were sealed with the promised holy Spirit.
~Ephesians 1:13

Confirmation is the sacrament of initiation in which a baptized Catholic, through prayers, imposition of hands and the anointing with chrism, receives a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit that completes Baptismal grace. This sacrament impresses a character, and by it the baptized, continuing on the path of Christian initiation, are enriched by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and bound more perfectly to the Church. It strengthens them and obliges them more firmly to be witnesses to Christ by word and deed and to spread and defend the faith! The confirmation process helps the candidate prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation through the evangelizing and catechizing opportunities they offer.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for the 2019 Confirmation classes!  All current baptized 5th graders who have received their First Communion are invited to register for the upcoming Confirmation Classes!  Classes run from March to November, so be sure to sign up soon!  The registration deadline is Monday, February 25th.  If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Catechesis at 303-770-0531
