We will continue our discussion of the Sacraments of Initiation.  Students will be working on the sacrament of Confirmation this week!  Next week, we will not be having our weekly school Mass on Tuesday.  Rather, we will be having an all school Mass on Wednesday the 6th as we celebrate Ash Wednesday together.

We will be working on simplifying algebraic and numeric expressions this week.  Students will have a quiz on Wednesday over lessons 5.1 and 5.2.

This week, all students will be participating in a program offered by Xcel Energy as part of their School Education program.  This program promotes the use of energy and water more efficiently.  In school, we will be learning about basic energy concepts through lessons and activities.  At the end of this week or beginning of next week, you will be receiving a kit provided by Xcel that includes various high-efficiency products that you may choose to use in your home.  It is NOT required that you use the provided products!  These products are yours to keep for immediate or future use.  PLEASE BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR THE PARENT LETTER BEING SENT HOME TODAY!

Social Studies

The Revolutionary War Battle Project was officially launched last week!  So far, it seems the students are all engaged and quite excited about their given battles!  We are taking this project relatively slow to ensure a deep understanding of the individual battles.  This week, I am hoping the students will finish their maps of the battles, their inset of the turning points, and the Reader’s Theater skit of their turning point.  Then, next week, we will begin construction of the battle scenes.  Again, a HUGE thank you to all who donated the needed supplies for the project!  We have an abundance of materials and I cannot wait to share the final products with you all!
