LOOKING BACK AT LAST WEEK
RELIGION – We learned that the Easter season begins on Holy Saturday evening/Easter Sunday and ends on Pentecost Sunday.
MATH – We continued to work on Chapter 13, Addition and Subtraction to 40. We solved addition problems without regrouping and with regrouping.
LANGUAGE ARTS – In Unit 10, Lesson 3 we reviewed long and short vowel u. Our Read Aloud story this week was Our Trip to Washington, D.C. Reading skills that we worked on included predicting and summarizing. We reviewed kinds of sentences. We read decodable book 108 and it went home last week. I hope they continue to read to you at home!
SOCIAL STUDIES – We completed a mini study of Colorado by learning some fun facts about our beautiful state. We learned that our state bird is the Lark Bunting and that our state flower is the Columbine. We identified Colorado on a U.S. map.
OTHER NEWS and NOTES
FIELD TRIP: We will be going on our last field trip of the year on Thursday, May 23. We’re going to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs! Authorization forms for the field trip went home last Friday. Mark your calendars, as I’ll need 8 chaperones! What a great way to end the school year!
