Then the angel said to the women in reply, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him.’ Behold, I have told you.”  ~Matthew 28:5-7

Happy Easter, everyone!  I hope you all had a blessed and glorious Easter weekend!

Please remember that this Friday is our field trip and Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Denver.  Monsignor Tom will be giving the 5th graders a tour and celebrating Mass for us as well!  All students must wear their DRESS UNIFORM and pack a brown bag lunch and water bottle.

This week, we will begin our study of the Sacraments of Communion of Service.  We will begin with studying Holy Matrimony and then continue to Holy Orders next week.  We will only be having one formal religion class this week due to Mass, 2nd Step, and our trip to the Cathedral.  The Sacraments of Service of Communion Quiz will be on Thursday, May 2nd.

Students will continue working on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals this week.  We will wrap up our decimals unit next week with a test at the end of the week.

Social Studies

This week, we will be discussing Thomas Jefferson and the Louisiana Purchase.  Students will be having their Chapter 6 test on Wednesday as it was postponed from last week’s unexpected day off.

We will start chapter 13 this week with reading and discussing force and motion.  We will be talking in depth about Newton’s Laws of Motion and complete a few different labs throughout the next week or two.  The next test is scheduled for May 8th…but will keep you posted if the date changes.
