Dear Second Grade Families:

Welcome to our last week of school!

A reminder:

Please remember there is no more tests; spelling words/homework; and no more homework.
Please remember that there is no school Mass on Tuesday due to having our last school Mass this Friday.
Please remember that our Field Day will be Wednesday June 5th., from 8:30-11:00.
Please remember our class party is on Thursday June 6th., from 2:15-2:45.
Please remember that our last day of school is this Friday June 7th., we will have our last school Mass with a 10:30 inside dismissal-no car line.

As incoming third grade students, our students will be required to purchase and have a copy of their own Pilgrims- Magic Treehouse non-fiction research guide book; and another book called Lemonade Wars by Davies. These are two books they will need for third grade. Thank you for your support!

Please continue this Summer to review addition/subtraction and multiplication/division flash cards with your child as well as reviewing time and money with reading and writing daily for 20 minutes. Thank you for support!

Week of June 3-June 7th, 2019

Week at a Glance:

Math-REVIEW WEEK: We will review addition and subtraction with 3 digit numbers and fractions; review money; review time; review multiplication and division; mass and volume; as well as working in their workbook and supplements.

Open Court-REVIEW WEEK: Unit 6: we will continue to blend words and build oral language skills and fluency skills; sound: oo and ow; identify suffixes: er, or, and ness; review commas in a series; Read: Cinderella Tales; apply comprehensive strategies; asking and answering questions and making connections; describe story elements; story and plot; investigate comparisons and contrasts; sequence; cause and effects; characters; events in a story; understand the author’s purpose; identify fact and opinion; visualize and ask and answer questions; demonstrate understanding of language use and text features; word and sentence dictation; and continue daily work in journals; clarify and make connections; fact and opinion and classify and categorize; write in daily journals; edit persuasive writing; write thank you notes.

Religion- REVIEW prayers and lessons.

*We have now completed our Stars of the Week and I could not be more proud of all of them!

It has been a pleasure and a blessing to have had your children in my class this year. I enjoyed each and every one of them and look forward to seeing them at school next year as they enter third grade.
