Reminder: We will be having our in-school field trip this Thursday! The students are looking forward to “Mad Science,” coming to us! There will be spelling homework and a spelling test this week. We will also have a math test on Tuesday this week on Volume. Please continue to review multiplication/division flash cards with your child as well as reviewing time and money. Thank you for support!

Week at a Glance:
Math-We will review chapter 9 Volume, on Monday, to prepare for a test on Tuesday. The students will start Chapter 17 on picture graphs this week. We will explore, compare and understand picture graphs as well as working in their workbook and supplements.
Open Court-we will continue to blend words and build oral language skills and fluency skills; sound: oi; nd; and oy. Read “D is for Democracy”; apply comprehensive strategies; Asking and Answering Questions and Making Connections; describe story elements; investigate comparisons and contrasts; sequence; cause and effects; characters; events in a story; understand the author’s purpose; identify fact and opinion; demonstrate understanding of language use and text features; word and sentence dictation; and continue daily work in journals; classify and categorize; use a tree graphic organizer to plan a summary; give and receive feedback on their drafts; use proofreading marks and a checklist to edit summaries; evaluate summaries based on writer’s goals; publish summaries.
Religion- Lesson 26-Rosary: We will review and learn how to pray the Rosary; we will discuss the different prayers of the Rosary; discuss and learn the Apostles Creed and review Hail Holy Queen; we will recite the Rosary together.
Science-Chapter 9: Matter: Learning about matter and how it applies to life and science; Mad Science field trip coming to us on Thursday to demonstrate the properties of matter and a hands-on experiment.
