Week at a Glance:
Math-we continue to compare lengths in meters; we will measure lengths in centimeters and make comparisons; we will solve real world problems using the metric system; we will begin learning fractions at the end of this week
Open Court-we are currently blending words a; e; f; m; and silent letters; building oral language skills and vocabulary; identifying capitalization in a sentence; identifying elements of a narrative writing by choosing an idea for an action tale while using a graphic organizer; revising an action draft; coming up with ideas for a realistic story; reading “Victor’s Journal,” with Author’s Purpose and Point of View; identify Sequence of Events; apply Comprehensive Strategies; Asking and Answering Questions and Making Connections; investigating Main Ideas and Details.
Religion– we will learn why we love God; study Abraham and Isaac; investigate the Ten Commandments with a focus on the first three commandments. Virtue: Purity-St. Dominic Savio
Social Studies-continue to study the world around us; compare and contrast climate and weather; read a table chart that organizes info.; the globe is a model of our Earth; make a compass rose; discover the equator and cardinal direction; poles; hemisphere. We will take a Social Studies test, Unit 2 on Thursday.
