School Advisory Committee

The School Advisory Committee (SAC) is made up of the pastor, school administrators and selected members of the school parent community. Responsibilities of the committee include planning, policy formulation, finances, public relations, and marketing. In all matters, the School Advisory Committee functions in an advisory capacity only. If you have special expertise in a relevant field and would like to be involved in the work of this committee, we invite you to contact us.

Home and School Association

The Home and School Association of St. Thomas More Catholic School exists to plan activities and events that are designed to promote good will, spiritual growth, and a sense of belonging within the STM Catholic community. We encourage all to be actively involved and are grateful to all of the wonderful events at St. Thomas More Catholic School such as:

  • Back-to-School Picnic;
  • New Family Ice Cream Social;
  • Yahoo/BooHoo Kindergarten Party;
  • Father/Daughter Dance;
  • Mother/Son Bowling;
  • Field Day;
  • Lenten Dinner;
  • Teacher Appreciation Luncheons;
  • Skate City Night;
  • Staff Appreciation Week;
  • Catholic Schools Week and Donut Sunday;
  • All School Rosary;
  • Field Day Treats;
  • Grandparent Volunteers.

As a volunteer, you may provide support to the faculty and administration, chaperone field trips, assist with coaching a sports team, help with the Book Fair, coordinate extra-curricular activities, work in the library, plant seasonal flowers, organize the used uniform sale, or provide assistance with the Mane Event, to name just a few of the many ways parents get involved. The association is always eager for more volunteers. All volunteers must attend a Safe Environment Training class and have a Background Check prior to volunteering in any capacity.

The Mane Event

The Mane Event is the premier fundraising and community-building event of each year. This live and silent auction and dinner gala provides an opportunity for parents, alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni, faculty and staff to secure the continued excellence of a STM Catholic education. Support of the Mane Event is critical to the School as it underwrites a percentage of the budget. Proceeds from the Mane Event benefit every facet of the School's operation – from faculty salaries to extra-curricular activities, from technology to athletics. In addition, a portion of the Mane Event proceeds is directed to the Children's Charity Account, as part of the School's longstanding commitment to support this important community service enterprise.

Grocery Certificate

The Grocery Certificate Program provides another means for us to raise funds for the School’s operating budget. The program is simple and requires no additional monetary contribution or extra effort from our parents. When you purchase grocery certificates from us, a percentage of the cost is returned to STM Catholic. All School families are required to participate in this program.

Used Uniform Program

The Used Uniform Committee has created a profitable and creative outlet for our families to donate and purchase gently used uniform items at a discount.  Donations are sorted through, organized, hung and inventoried for purchase. Thanks to our amazing volunteers, this program has brought in over $10,000 annually.
