Our library supports the STM Catholic curriculum and meets the needs of the student body with a well-balanced collection of print and non-print materials. Our goals are to stimulate curiosity, enhance reading and research skills, inspire creative and critical thinking, and provide access to literature and information in both the library and the world beyond.

The library houses a collection of over 14,000 books, periodicals, videos, and a growing collection of DVDs. We have one full-time librarian to assist grades K-8 throughout the day.   After school and summer hours are available for continued learning.

Some of our reading programs include:

  • Reading Counts Program – Comprehension quizzes for grades 2–6 to motivate readers to reach grade-level reading goals and provide feedback on individual reading levels.

  • Read-Aloud Month – October is celebrated with a reading contest for grades K-4

  • Colorado Children’s Book Award (CCBA) – Students in grades 3-6 choose books from a nominated list to read and vote on each February.

  • Scholastic Book Fairs – Hosted twice a year.  Proceeds go to the school’s general fund, the library and to help support two of our Archdiocesan inner-city schools to build their libraries.

  • Battle of the Books – Our newest program is designed for our 6th graders with the potential for expansion.  Teams are created and reading competitions both within STM Catholic and other schools are hosted from an age-appropriate book list.

  • Cross-Curriculum Projects – The library supports research and project development in conjunction with other subjects.

  • Destiny Online Catalog System
